The Beginning
While planning their own wedding, Iron Timber Co. owners, Mike and Megan Christensen, had a very hard time finding the perfect pieces for their ceremony and reception, which would ultimately create the special day Mike and Megan had been dreaming of their entire lives (well, mostly Megan). With Megan’s background in over 20 years of planning events from small, intimate dinner parties to large fundraising galas for over 2000 guests, and Mike’s experience with, and passion for, custom carpentry, you can just imagine how meticulous the couple was about the details for their big day. It had to be rustic (for Mike), yet at the same time elegant (for Megan).
After an exhausting search, Mike began to build what the couple needed, but could not find, such as the arch, signage and aisle stanchions for the ceremony. After seeing the beautiful custom pieces Mike had built for the wedding, the Maid of Honor, who has her own event design and floral company, suggested that he start selling and renting these pieces. And thus, the beginning of Mike and Megan’s life together as a couple also became the beginning of Iron Timber Co.
